We have had a wonderful last week in Cuckoo's Class of our first half term!
We have painted our clay snails and had the opportunity to show them to the whole school as part of Harvest Assembly. We created Snail Habitat's out of autumn leaves, to place our snails on and give them a home. Year 1 bravely stood up in front of the rest of the school and explained what we had done to celebrate the season. Thank you for all your support in my first half term at South Tawton- I have settled in really well and I am so pleased with the progress all of the class are making. I hope everybody has both a lovely rest and lots of fun during half term, see you in November. Hello, apologies for the delay in Cuckoo's class first blog post- I am still getting used to the systems at South Tawton, but I have finally cracked this one! Cuckoo's Class have settled into Year 1 incredibly well this half term, we have had lots of fun and also done a lot of learning. They have welcomed me into the school community fantastically and what a great first half term I have had here.
This week we have been practicing writing number sentences, using cubes and counters to support our understanding of number bonds to and within 10. The children are becoming more confident in recognising number bonds fluently and love making their +/= symbols with their arms! |
