Teddy needs to find a waterproof material

Exploring materials continues, we had to find which materials would keep teddy dry. In our class discussion, we talked about which materials absorb the water. Can the children tell you what absorb means?
We looked at what happens to some materials when they absorb water, paper-got lots of holes and the wool got soggy.
We found that only three of our materials were waterproof, can they name the materials?
