Welcome back and Happy New Year. The children have settled quickly back into school after their Christmas break and have begun their new theme of ‘Heroes’ with enthusiasm. Happy New Year Please help us to get the new school year off to a good start by ensuring that your child is wearing the correct school uniform and that PE kit is in school every day. After- school clubs will be starting again during the week beginning Monday 13th January. You should receive emails and booking options via school gateway for all clubs except cookery club. I have attached a leaflet detailing the peripatetic music lessons on offer alongside this newsletter. A huge thank you to those of you who helped to paint the library –more library news next week. Download our Music Lesson Leaflet here: Year One and Two Theatre trip. Before the Christmas break, Year One and Two had a fantastic visit to the Northcott theatre to watch Beauty and the beast. “My favourite part was all of the songs.” Conrad Yr 1. Year 3 Year 3 have started their topic ‘Children’s view of WW2’ and, on Friday, we looked at the design of the Spitfire. A story was shared about a family friend who flew one of these stunning flying machines, so everyone was very excited to see what it looked like. Here are some drawings we wanted to share with you. Our parking and travel pledge Our school council have created a parking and travel pledge for families attending our school and preschool. Children have been given a paper copy (1 per family) to discuss; this has a cut off section for you to sign and return to school. An electronic version can be downloaded here. School Lunches The “Main Meal” menu choice for Thursday 16th January has been changed to “All Day Breakfast”. This date is also our SchoolCensus Day and I would like to encourage all pupils to have a school lunch on that day as this will attract additional funding for our school.
