What an incredible day we had at Plymouth National Marine Aquarium! The children were so incredibly well behaved and left us all feeling proud with their engagement during the entire day as well as all of the amazing questions they asked and answered! The staff at the Aquarium were blown away by the knowledge and understanding.
Take a look at the pictures of the creature creations workshop where the children learnt about animal identification and features of some sea creatures. They then used a paper plate to make their very own fish or whale! The children had a super time on their guided tour with the wonderful Georgia from the Aquarium. They also sat and listened to a ‘shark show’ where they learnt lots of cool shark facts. What an incredible day! Well done, Year One for being so amazing!! The children have been creating non-chronological reports in English based Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. The children researched facts about penguins and chose the information they wanted to include on their report. Collapsed curriculum day.
The children have continued to enjoy engaging in our key text, Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. This week, we have explored using a dictionary to broaden our vocabulary and develop an understanding of some of the words in the book.
