I've been amazed by some of your lovely work based on our Under the Sea theme. You've all been working hard and getting super creative at home. Serenity has been getting crafty and has made some fantastic sea creatures as well as writing about the importance of recycling to help protect our oceans. Jacob and Brianna have had a go at fossil making with excellent results! Lauren has been busy baking and decorated her cake with an under water theme. I've been told that the cake was delicious. It certainly looks it! Well done and keep up the good work.

If you're looking for a bit more variety with your child's literacy work, then please have a look through the documents below. I have taken short films from the Literacy Shed website and put together some suggested tasks for your child to complete. You could do as much or as little as you like and spend any amount of time that you feel is appropriate on each task. For example, you might want to spend a week planning and writing a story but maybe just one session writing a poem. I've also put together a document which suggests a lesson structure if you wanted to incorporate these tasks with any grammar work from the BBC Bitesize website. Please share any work that you are particularly proud of with me. Remember that this work is NOT compulsory but simply an alternative should you want to try something different.
lesson_structure_1.pdf origins_1.pdf bubbles1.pdf the_little_shoemaker1.pdf the_piano_1.pdf I have had lots of lovely emails today sharing what you got up to over the weekend. We had camping in the garden, BBQs, afternoon teas, walks, bike rides, deer spotting, raft building, bunting making, marshmallow toasting and garden feasts. It makes me so happy to see you enjoying time with your families. Please enjoy the photos below...

In 3rd place with a fantastic 23/25 - Bracken & co. Joint 2nd place with 24/25 - Lucy & Eve, Jessie & Eleanor and Freddie. Drum roll....in 1st place, with full marks...Izzy & Abi! Well done to everyone who took part, I really enjoyed seeing you all and testing your Harry Potter knowledge (which really was impressive)! It's been lovely to see your hard work on 'The Americas' topic over the last couple of weeks. I've seen some incredible totem poles and art work inspired by Jackson Pollock. Some of you have been cooking up a storm in the kitchen and have enjoyed some American feasts with your families. I've enjoyed seeing your American themed arts and crafts, including something called a 'quetzalcoatl' - a giant feathered Aztec god! It's been great to see you have all made time to get outdoors, even when the weather hasn't been particularly good. Fingers crossed for a sunny weekend!
