Hello! It's lovely to be writing my first blog for Year 6 here at South Tawton.
We've had a great week getting to know each other. The children have made a fantastic start to Year 6, thinking about the maturity and responsibilities that go with this year. I've been able to see how creative the class is through some fantastic art work and self portraits which are now on display in the classroom. I've also been impressed with some fantastic discussion during our Book Club sessions and English lessons. This week, we have completed our first practise SATs papers, so that the children can familiarise themselves early with the format and expectations of these statutory assessments. They have been amazing and taken it all in their stride, and I feel very proud of them already! We also enjoyed a singing workshop with some musicians from the Whiddon Down Autumn Festival on Wednesday and the class sang fantastically. Next week, we will be back to a normal timetable and diving into our new topics: The Industrial Revolution in history; Physical & Chemical reactions in Science and lots more. Please do come along to my Parents Information Evening on Tuesday at 3.30pm - I really look forward to meeting you all. Have a lovely day. Miss Radbourne Comments are closed.
