We have been party planning all week to celebrate Fred Frog's 5th birthday and Harold's (the Scarf giraffe) 4th birthday, both are well loved members of our class. We have baked cakes, made lists, written cards and wrapped presents. We finished the week with a party full of games and dancing. Here we are in our party clothes.
After we shared some of our own special celebration photos we thought about weddings. Several children couldn't remember going to a wedding, so we thought we'd have 2 to find out more. Our first ceremony was a Muslim wedding for Millie and Isaac. We turned our classroom into a Mosque and celebrated with them. Our second ceremony was a Christian wedding for Esther-May and Wilf. We visited St Mary's and Rev Mark lead a service for us. We finished the celebration back in class with cake, children's champagne and dancing. Here are some more photos from our wedding celebrations. This week we were visited by Dr James Screen who told us all about his Artic and Antarctic science trips. We enjoyed finding out how cold things are, asking him questions and completing an ice melting experiment.
We have thought about ways we can help look after our planet. Children's ideas included; keeping the sea clean, using electric cars, recycling and cleaning up rubbish. We were excited to try out the gym equipment in the hall. We watched videos of Olympic gymnasts and tried using the climbing equipment ourselves.
