Art Collaboration

Year 3 and Year 6  were inspired by our topic 'Environmental Art'.  The children came up with the idea of doing peer collages in the style of David Hockney.
David Hockney was born on the 9 July 1937 and is a British painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. As an important contributor to the pop art movement of the 1960s, he is considered one of the most influential British artists of the 20th century. His photography collages inspired us!

We took photos of our school grounds and layered colour print on grey background, picking out key lines, curves and features.  We have also made layered collages using many photographs of the same image. We are thrilled with the effects we have made!
