This week's newsletter includes: Year 3 Movement and Dance Festival, Parents Evenings, Sponsored Fitness Circuits, Children's Mental Health Week, RNLI visit and more. Year 3 Movement & Dance Festival On Monday, Year 3 went to Okehampton College for a festival of movement and dance. We were lucky to get to try basketball, football, different running games, dance, trampolining and movement on an inflatable track. We thoroughly enjoyed it as we experienced some activities we cannot do at school. Many thanks again to our volunteer drivers!
Sponsored Fitness Circuits On Monday 3rd February, David Hill - a British Paralympian and triathlete - will be visiting our school to work with each class. Every child will be participating in a short fitness circuit and will have the opportunity to ask David questions during a special assembly. The fitness circuit will be sponsored and 60% of the monies will collected will come back to our school to spend on new PE equipment. The other 40% will go back into the scheme to allow other athletes to visit more schools to promote sport and physical activity. It would be fantastic to raise as much money as possible, so please encourage your child to take part and discuss the event. PLEASE ENSURE THAT ALL CHILDREN HAVE PE KIT IN SCHOOL TOMORROW. Children’s Mental Health Week Set up by children’s mental health charity Place2Be, this week shines a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health. This year’s theme is ‘Find your Brave’. We will be holding a whole school assembly and class based discussions during this week. Parents and careers can find out more information from: www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/parents-and-carers/ Or by reading this ‘top tips for parents’ sheet.
