This fortnight we will be focusing on a new topic - The Americas! Have a look at the topic web below and pick some activities that you would like to have a go at. It would be great if everyone could complete the Literacy task on Friday as their literacy learning for that day. I'm really looking forward to seeing your art work and reading the interesting facts that you discover.
When you click on the link below, you will find daily literacy lessons from BBC bitesize. This should offer valuable learning experiences whilst cutting down on at-home printing.
This website also offers a range of learning opportunities in maths and many other curriculum areas.
For those of you who have enjoyed the previous style of Literacy learning and wish to continue, I have included a link to the next weeks learning below:
Angry Cat Text
Hansel & Gretal Text
Information for grown-ups
Currently, the next week of Maths is unavailable on White Rose, when week 3 is uploaded, I'll add the link to this page. In the meantime, please use the following games and videos to consolidate your maths learning:
Telling the time
2, 5, & 10 times tables
You can also use the daily maths lessons on bbc bitesize.
Please remember that you do not need to complete all of these activities. This week, you are welcome to pick the literacy and maths tasks that most appeal to you. Feel free to mix it up a bit! Most importantly, have fun and look after yourselves!
Hello Year 2! It's been lovely to hear from so many of you this week. You seem to be embracing our new butterfly topic and I have read some super dragon stories. I have enjoyed seeing photos of you completing the reading challenges and having fun learning outdoors!
Hello Year 2! I hope you have had an enjoyable Easter!
If any of you completed any of the tasks I set for the holidays, please email me and show me what you've been up to.
Before the holidays, you began to write your dragon stories for Literacy. As this week is only a 3 day week, I'd like you to use the time to finish writing your story. I suggest using one day to write the story, one day to edit and improve it and then write the final story on Friday. Try to include some expanded noun phrases (tall, brown tree), conjunctions to join sentences together (and, but, because, when, if)and include lots of common exception words. Any questions, please send me a message via email or the gateway. I can' t wait to read them!
You can find your Maths for the week by clicking on the link below;
Please complete 'Summer term, Week 1' which focuses on fractions. I strongly recommend that you watch the video clips attached to each day.
For the next 2 weeks I would like to focus on the topic of butterflies. Have a look at the topic web below and choose some activities that appeal to you.
