Wow, what a week!! It's safe to say we've had a fantastic week. We finished our week with an amazing trip on the train to Exmouth. A huge thank you to Mike and Rebecca from The Devon and Cornwall Rail Partnership and Great Western Railway for faciliating the travel for us and allowing us all to travel for free. We've played, paddled, made sandcastles, eaten ice-creams and had a huge amount of fun! The children have been absolutely fantastic and a great credit to the school. A huge thank you to Mr Wilkins, Miss Marvin, Ashley, Charlie, Conlaed, Miss Rowe, Mrs Bazeley, Mrs White, Mrs Glover, Piers and Mary for all of their help today. We wouldn't have been able to have such a fantastic week without all of the adult help that we have had. So a massive thank you to everyone that has helped this week!
I hope you all have a super, sunny weekend!! Today we spent the day in school having fun in the forest school area and holding a mini olympics! We produced some beautiful artwork and enjoyed eating ice creams to cool us down. A huge thank you to Mrs Dunn, Mr Wilkins, Jack and Charlie for their help today!
Year Two had a super day at the Eden Project today learning all about seeds and the conditions that they need to grow. We diseccted seeds, explored the gardens and planted our own seeds during our morning workshop 'Ready, steady sow'. We also learnt some of the history behind the site that Eden was built on. During the afternoon we were able to explore the biomes and we also had a go at the quiz that Saffron had kindly made for us.
A huge thank you to Mrs Dunn, Mrs Anderson, Saffron, Charlie, Ian, Liz and Rowan for all of their help today!! Tomorrow we are going to be having fun back in our forest school area! Year Two had a fantastic day at Rosemoor gardens today. We took part in a workshop called Inspirational nature with Richard. During our session we looked at some ephemeral artwork and thought about how the pictures and sculptures were made. We were then able to explore Rosemoor and collect items to use in our own artwork. You'll notice we even found time to have a play in the park. A huge thank you to Nan, Vicky, Liz and Miss Marvin for all of their help today. We are looking forward to our visit to the Eden Project tomorrow! Below, you'll see some of our wonderful creations!
Year Two had a fantastic day at Morwellham Quay today. We were transported back in time back to Victorian Britain. We spent the day attending a Victorian School, dressing up as Victorians, breaking up rocks on the dressing floor and also going on the mine train to learn about copper mining.
You'll notice that some of us even received some Victorian punishments and I'm sure that you'll agree that Year Two make a rather fantastic looking group of Victorians! A huge thank you to Ruth, Hannah and Neil for all of their help today and kindly giving up their time to help with our visit. We're very much looking forward to the rest of our Wild Week. We had a great day at Hatherleigh cricket club on Wednesday working with the Exeter Chiefs and Devon Cricket! We were so busy having fun and learning new skills, we didn’t get chance to take many photos! |
