We hope you all enjoyed your Christmas shortbread as much as we enjoyed making them!!

This morning we held our first Christingle service in the school playground. Rev Mark talked to us about the story behind the Christingle and we also were able to sing together with the rest of the school. We then came back to the classroom to light our Christingles together, this can only be described as magical.

Year Two have had two very successful performances of Behind the stable door. The children performed to the Key stage Two children and received lots of wonderful feedback.

Very exciting times in Year Two.... our Father Christmas letters have gone off in the post!!

We have been very busy writing our letters to Father Christmas. The children wrote some super letters and had some wonderful Christmas wishes included within them. I've included a few of our wishes below. 

I have the VERY important job of posting all of the letters, to make sure that they reach Father Christmas in good time.

Our Christmas Wishes:
I wish that everyone has company this Christmas- Albany.
I wish that everyone has food on Christmas day- Isabelle.
I wish that homeless people could have some warm scarves- River.
I wish that people had lots of food- Ted.
I wish that everyone would smile all the time- Logan.
I would like to make all of the people in the world happy- Agatha. 
I wish for everyone to stay fit and healthy- Patrick.
I wish that all of the people in hospital have presents- Nathaniel.

The children have been busy adding to our class Christmas tree, making some great decorations. They will be coming home next week to decorate homes.

Year Two arrived at school this morning 'fully festive' and ready for a run. They enjoyed their Santa Dash and mostly, managed to avoid the mud!!

To link in with our topic of Zambia we have been making mud huts.

Just the very mention of Christmas causes great excitement in Year Two. This week we have put up our Christmas tree and the children have created some decorations to go on it. We also have our whole class advent calendar, which provides us with a whole class treat each day to share together.

In maths, we have been learning about money. We created our own class shop and have been been busy solving money problems. Any opportunities that the children get to use money in real life situations (I appreciate that this is very difficult in the current situation) would be great.
