Here’s some shots from our last full day yesterday. After we backed our bags we headed over to Sainte-mere-eglese. We had lovely time exploring the market where the children were each given 10 euros to spend on treats or gifts.

We then headed over to the Airborne museum which the children loved! The museum displayed many artefacts from the war and has lots of interesting information. There were also areas which provided a realistic experience of what it would’ve been like fighting on the ground or flying in a plane during the war.
Our last stop of the day was to pay our respect to the fallen soldiers at the Bayeux War Cemetery.

The following is a message from Mr Wilkins about activities on Tuesday:
After breakfast we headed over to Arromanches and went to the 360 cinema. We then explored the British Normandy Memorial where we read a French poem and laid down a wreath.
Next, we drove to Cruelly, had some lunch and visited the school that we’d met on the previous day for some games and activities. To top it off, we headed over to a local shop for ice cream!
Lastly, we stopped off at Gold Beach for a quick tour before having a little walk on the beach.

The children are being absolutely brilliant and seem to be having a really great time. 

I'm sure you've all been keeping up to date with the Trust blog ​(https://dartmoormat.org.uk/news-type/trust-normandy-residential/) but thought you'd enjoy this wonderful, smiley photo of some of our pupils on the beach today. Staff report that they all slept really well last night and had a great day today with no worries or problems at all. 

Here’s a few shots we’ve taken of the first day. We were hoping to get some at the Tapestry but we weren’t allowed to take photos, unfortunately.
After some breakfast this morning, we headed over to the Pegasus Bridge then explored the museum and saw one of the replica glider planes which were used on D-Day.
We then investigated the Bayeux Tapestry which the children found really interesting before heading into a French restaurant for a spot of lunch.

Next, we looked around the Bayeux Cathedral and got the opportunity to practice some of our French by talking to a French school who were also visiting the area.
The children were excited to check out the Château and after playing some games on the field, they had some dinner before doing some karaoke altogether.
All children have behaved absolutely brilliantly so far and are looking forward to the rest of the week!
