With the move to the school hall, our sponsored sportsathon and 'Free Day', it's been a very busy week to end this half term.
The children have adapted very well to working in the school hall this week and have worked hard to finish their 'Trash' unit in English.
On Tuesday, we completed our sponsored sportsathon and, despite the rain, we managed to complete a full 5 and half hours of sporting activities. The children had a fantastic day and I was blown away by how supportive they were of each other. Well done to all of you.
If sponsorship money hasn't been brought into school yet, please can it be collected and handed in after half term?
I hope you all have a lovely, restful week in the (predicted) sunshine!
This week, Year 6 continued with their environmental art topic. We headed out onto the school field, framed a piece of nature and had a go at some observational drawing.
The frames really allowed the children to focus in on one small part and look at all the tiny details of the flowers, leaves and grass. It was lovely to make the most of the sunshine too before the rain set in!
Have a lovely weekend.
I hope you've all enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend. The extra day off was well deserved after a rather busy week.
The children have been working hard to improve their understanding of perimeter and area of different compound shapes. In English, we have been working on a new text, called Trash. The story is really gripping the class so far and stirring up lots of discussion. I'm very excited to see all the fantastic work the children produce during our lessons.
Possible Year 6 Residential - Ashbury Hotel, Monday 24th - Wednesday 26th May.
You should have all received an email, from Mrs Marvin, inviting you to complete a short survey about whether you would be interested in your child attending.
If you haven't done so already, please complete the survey and submit it as soon as possible.
On Thursday 27th May, the children will be completing day 2 of the John Muir award. They will complete a field work study and a walk on Shapley Common; I will email further details to parents during the week.
