What an amazing term we have had in Year 3! We would like to thank all of the children for their hard work.
The children have really enjoyed our Ancient Greece and Natural Disasters topics and we are really proud of the high standard of work they have produced. Below our some photographs of the Home Learning from this term, thank you to the children and parents for the incredible volcanoes and fantastic Ancient Greek posters and booklets. We hope you have a super Easter break and look forward to seeing you all in the summer term. The children have completed an investigation into buoyancy.
Each group was given a cup of water and a range of objects. For each object, the children had to predict whether it would float or sink and say why. They then tested each object to see if you were correct or not. We have had great fun in Year 3 designing and making our own castles.
The children worked on them for a number of weeks and were really pleased with the finished results. We think they look amazing! The children in Year 3 would like to say a huge THANK YOU to the PTA for their new wet playtime toys.
They love them! This week in computing we have been using our coding skills to create a story.
Using different codes to get our characters speaking, changing costumes and changing scenes. We are becoming scratch experts as the weeks go by! In Science this week we have enjoyed experimenting with magnets.
We looked at how magnetic forces can attract or repel. We experimented with paper clips to test how strong the magnets were. This week Year 3 had a gymnastics session which was lead by the Okehampton Flyers. It was a fantastic session and great to see the children showing off their rolls, tucks, straddles and incredible flexibility. We are truly grateful for another amazing opportunity provided to us by an outside source.
