Can you please bring your books back into school on Monday morning? We caught the last warm, sunny day of the week and headed off to our forest school for some outdoor learning. The children learnt about animals and vegetation that were around during the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods. We made a stone age stew which looked rather unappealing however it smelt good and, to the surprise of some, was rather tasty. On Monday, in science we learnt about the three different rock types: sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic. We used starburst to understand how the different rocks are formed. With lots of starbursts left over, the children took some home to demonstrate the investigation to their families. Thank you for the photos and well done for remembering what we did in class and sharing your knowledge. Reading: to read out loud and discuss the text every day for 15 minutes. Kind Regards Mrs Donovan At the end of our first week back Year 3 still seem to have lots of energy! It has been wonderful to have you all back in class and we have enjoyed getting to know you all. Next week we will be starting our science and history topics, "Rocks" and "The Stone, Bronze & Iron Ages". In preparation for Science on Monday, I would be grateful if you could bring in a live worm or two. I promise we will look after them and set them free in a few weeks.
You have all worked hard this week, both Mrs Glover and I have been really impressed. Have a lovely weekend and we'll look forward to seeing you all on Monday morning. I hope you've had a wonderful summer break. Mrs Glover and I are looking forward to welcoming you back into class tomorrow.
