It's been really lovely to get back into class and see all the children again this week. The children have been incredibly busy this week; they have been continuing to work on their written addition methods in Maths, writing newspaper reports in English, investigating rocks in Science and painting their model volcanoes in Design Technology. Year 3 Christmas HamperOur Christmas hamper is already filling up fast and has some lovely prizes in it. Thank you to all of you who have donated prizes. If you haven't done so already, and would like to, please send your orange prizes into class over the next couple of weeks. If you manage to sell some tickets, please send the ticket stubs and money back into school - I am collecting them in class, to pass onto the Mrs Meardon in the office. If you would like some more tickets to sell, I have some spares. Have a lovely weekend.
Year 3 have been busy this afternoon making a start on their volcano models. They have used newspaper and their bottles to make the basic volcano shape. Next week, they will begin to paper mache their models before painting them.
Great job so far, Year 3! It has been lovely to see the children back in school and, for the first time in weeks, we've had a full class! It's been fantastic to have everyone together again - long may it continue. The children have made a great start; they have been working hard on their addition in Maths, learning about facts and opinions in English, we've started a new topic on Mountains, Earthquakes and Volcanoes in Georgraphy and we'll be creating our own volcano models in Design Technology over the next few weeks! But, without a doubt, the highlight of the week was finally having a go on the new climbing structure on our school field. There was much excitement as the children climbed, hung and scrambled over the new equipment. Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
