This week, Year 3 have started a new English unit based on Ted Hugh's book, The Iron Man. As a class, we have started to explore similes.

Year 3 have also continued working on their volcanoes this week. As you can see, they're really starting to take shape now.

The children had a lovely day dressing up and joining in with some Children in Need activities. 

This week, the children have been exploring newspaper articles, learning about fold mountains, written addition and subtraction and have made a start on their model volcanoes!

Year 3 have had a fantastic first week back which all started with their trip to Kents Cavern. During the visit, the children learnt about the cave system and who lived in it during Stone Age Times, they explored artefacts (some replicas and some real) and completed a challenge around the wildlife trail. I was incredibly impressed with the facts and knowledge they had remembered, from our Prehistoric Britain unit, and how beautifully behaved and enthusiastic they all were!
