It has been a bit of a funny week, but the children have done some wonderful learning regardless. In English, we have been focussing on writing speech and using inverted commas. In Maths, we have been finishing our work on mass and will be starting our work on capacity next week. In Science, we have been learning about plants and their different parts. We have been focusing on the petals, stem, roots and leaves this week as well as their functions. Here are some photos of the work we did in our groups: Hope you all have a lovely long weekend.
It was lovely welcoming the children back to school from the Easter holidays. We have started our new humanities topic of Villages, Towns and Cities and have a new book in English which links to this; it is called ‘A Walk in London’ by Salvatore Rubbino, you can listen to/watch it below. The children have been very interested by the locations in London and we have been doing our own research using the chrome books. In PE, we have been testing our reaction times and trying to improve them. In partners, we have been dropping balls and trying to catch them before they bounce- it was quite tricky as we moved further away from each other! Thank you Isobel for being our PE photographer. We also had OCRA come in and run a Futsal competition on Thursday afternoon which was a lot of fun - sorry we didn’t manage to get any photos of this. In Maths, we have started our new unit of measuring mass and capacity. We are currently focusing on mass and have been using scales to measure the mass of objects around the classroom.
