We've looked at pushes, pulls and twists, this week the children have deepened their understanding about friction. It's been lovely to see everyone getting so enthusiastic about science; the proof is in the investigations! For those working from home, you improvised well using t-towels, grass, books and rolls of sandpaper - great work! Last week, we finished our English work on George's Marvelous Medicine. You created some intriguing concoctions, never to be tired!
We are now starting new book as part of out guided reading, can you guess the title from the picture below? We survived! You actually did more than that, you have all worked incredibly hard and produced some lovely work. Year 3 are now masters of short multiplication and ready for division next week. George and his Marvellous Medicine has helped you to create some intriguing witness statements as well as demonstrating your understanding of speech punctuation. For me, the work that sums up how we feel at the moment was the art you produced. Collage portraits in the style of Picasso, they made me smile which is exactly what we need at the moment, thank you. Registration: We will have registration at 09:00 on Google Classroom when I will also run through the day’s work and answer any questions. Maths: Video and worksheet questions today will continue to be focused on short multiplication (answer sheet). At 10:30 we will have a Google Classroom meeting to discuss the questions. English: I will start the English lesson with a Google Classroom meeting at 11:10. Today you will be creating a conversation between Grandma and George. After lunch we will have registration via Google Classroom at 13:45. Science: Today you will be observing forces in action. You will need to be resourceful and imaginative. Daily Challenge: A bit of handwashing … of sorts! Tuesday’s Timetable Registration: We will have registration at 09:00 on Teams when I will also run through the day’s work and answer any questions. Maths: Video, questions today will be within the video; the focus is multiplying 2 digits by 1 digit. I have also attached some Diver Deeper questions. At 10:30 we will have a Teams meeting to discuss the questions. English: I will start the English lesson with a Teams Meeting at 11:10. I will be reading the next chapter and then some recipe writing. After lunch we will have registration via Google Classroom at 13:30. PE: Saints will be holding a Zoom meeting at 13:45 to 14:30. I have sent the link to your parents. For this session you will need 2x2m space, water bottle / bat and a tennis ball / piece of scrunched up paper. French: You will be reviewing your knowledge of numbers, using the PowerPoint as well as some activities. Word Search – numbers in French Crossword Daily Challenge: What “WOW” Words can you think of? While school is partially closed, we're going to be asking you all to use google classroom to complete your home learning. This will enable you to meet with your teacher and class for registration and live lessons. There is an expectation that you will complete all of the home learning set each day and submit it back to your teacher for marking. This will ensure that you will continue to learn and make good progress even though you can't come to school. Please now submit your work through google classroom rather than by email. I would like to conclude this session at 12:00 with a meeting to complete some RWI work and perhaps listen to a couple of poems. As an extension you could write some questions and answers in French. RE: This half term we will be learning about Islam, we will start by understanding how the religion of Islam began. If you have time please refresh your knowledge of the five pillars of Islam. Daily Challenge: I'm not sure anyone had time to complete Wednesday's challenge so here it is again.
