What a wonderful week we have had welcoming the children back to school. We have been so lucky to have such beautiful sunshine and the children have been enjoying spending lots of time playing and learning outside.
Over the Easter holiday, we had a little move around of the classroom and have introduced a 'curiosity corner' within the writing area. To link with our new Pirates topic, there is a treasure chest and shells in the tank which has sparked lots of thought provoking conversation and wonderful independent writing. We are all speculating what might be inside the treasure chest and who it belongs to! Look at some of the amazing independent writing children have done during independent learning time! On Thursday, we were very excited to spend the morning the outdoor learning area in the sunshine. To our surprise, when we arrived, it appeared there had already been a visitor... there were some little Easter eggs hidden for the children to find! It was very exciting and we had a wonderful morning together.
On Tuesday, Year One ran a mile on the school field with OCRA. The children were so enthusiastic and all completed the mile with a smile on their face! I am extremely proud of the children for not giving up and encouraging one another to keep on going! Well done, Year One!
