Using powder paint and water we mixed our own colours and created this vibrant palette of paints to use in class. Discussing the language and emotions around colours, each child mixed and named their own paint. This allowed us to explore a variety of the shades and tones within each colour. After discussing what the colours reminded us of, using their creativity the children independently came up with a name for their paint.
We have been practicing a static balance and balancing on 1 leg during our PE lessons. We had lots of fun playing popping pirates this week!
This week in Geography we have been learning about our local area. We know that our school is in the village of South Zeal and the town we live nearest to is called Okehampton. We discussed different places in our local area and had a look for these on a map.
The children then had a go at building a place from our local area during independent learning time. We had lots of farms, some churches, a park, Dartmoor, a bridge and a castle! |
