As part of our History unit about dinosaurs, we have been learning about what a palaeontologist is and what they do to help us learn about plants and animals from the past. We've been having a go at being palaeontologists. With our special kit of tools and safety equipment, we have searched among the sand for fossils and they tried to identify what animal they might belong to.
A BIG thank you to Andrew Shaddick for very kindly fixing the broken sand tray. We are very grateful and the children have thoroughly enjoyed playing with it this week! Year One had a fantastic day learning about Climate Change. It gave us lots to think about and we discussed our own impact on the planet as well as the small things we could do to make a big difference!
On Monday, we braved the rain and headed to the forest school area for the afternoon. The children had a fantastic time in the mud kitchen, climbing on the climbing frame, balancing on the logs, driving the car and exploring the outdoor learning area. We even managed to get a small fire going despite the rain! We can't wait to go again!
