In keeping with our learning about the human body, we have been creating some fabulous eye art work. This afternoon, we looked closely at our eyes (and photos of eyes) and the colours we can see in the iris. We used chalk and a blending technique by smudging the colours with our fingers to create these wonderful pictures. The children had lots of (messy) fun!
We've had a busy week building, making, constructing, computing and Captain Quinn in the pilot seat ready to fly his aeroplane (obviously)! This week in science we have been learning about our bodies. We had a great discussion about how our bodies might work in similar or different ways and how some people might need glasses to help them see or a hearing aid to help them hear. We then traced around Jess and the children worked together to write down the body parts/features that they knew. Over the rest of the term, we will be looking more closely at which body part is associated with which sense and how they help us navigate the world around us.
We have had a wonderful day today settling back into school routines and playing with our friends. We have been doing lots of writing and drawing, ordering numbers, building with the small and large construction and we looked at the story The Colour Monster. The children then started to paint their very own colour monsters and described how their monster might be feeling.
