What a super afternoon we had! Everyone running their hearts out and Year 3 cheering us on and then visa versa!  Thankfully this morning's heavy frost didn't stick around!

If I had super powers I would be ...

1. An 'animagus' because then I could change into a cat whenever I wanted. I wouldn't tell anyone otherwise they would always want to see me change.
2. The power of invisibility because if there was something going on I didn't want to be part of I could just disappear. It would be useful for catching villains too. You could be really good at hide and seek if you had this power!
3. To be able to time travel to see what the past was like. I would like to see how cave men survived for one day. I wouldn't want to change History because it might stop the inventions we have nowadays.  
4. To be able to fly, because then I would be able to see what it might like to be a bird. You might have to be careful of aeroplanes though! My whole family want to be able to fly too. 
5. Turning into animals like a wolf, then I would know how they survive and how they walk on four legs.
6. Peace Powers would be amazing, so if a war breaks out, I could click my fingers and resolve it.
7. My brother said he wanted to be Hulk, I would want to be able to turn into any mythical animal and have future time visions
8. I would want to have ALL superpowers, so I could always be ready.
9. My Mum said she would like the power of healing, so that if someone was hurt you could make them well again. I would like to be able to change into any animal so I know what its like. A duck would be fun!
10. My parents would like to go back in time to see what living without technology was like and my sister wants to read minds so she knows what's going to happen, before it happens.

The sun shone for us this week! Hurray! 
Even thought it was nippy, Tennis and Badminton skills were honed this week.  The children worked on hand eye coordination, proximity to net and aim. So many key elements to think about and they all did very well.
In Maths, we have been using manipulatives to help with factor families in multiplication.

Welcome Back to year 4 and we were all in! Woo hoo!
We really enjoyed hearing about everyone's Christmas break; stories of families reuniting after a long time, laughter and smiles were so wonderful to hear. Our new book in English is 'How Santa Really Works' by Alan Snow, an absolutely fabulous book which we will tie into DT also. Our History topic is Anglo Saxons and we hope (everything crossed) to have a Thatcher in to show us the ancient art of Thatching and in Art we will be focusing on Anglo Saxon round houses. We are starting multiplication and division in Maths with a lot of emphasis on Times Tables (TTRS a go go). In Science, we are starting 'Sound' so this week we did a sound walk and compared what we heard inside, in the corridor and outside. We started collaborative learning in Computing, so to prepare for typing into a document, we started BBC touch type, see photos below. So much fun to be had in all subjects this term!
