We were so very lucky to have an owl pellet in class this week. We heard about where it was found, all about the Barn Owl who produced it. We then softened it in water and iodine, then enjoyed having a good look inside to see what the owl had been eating that day. We found numerous very small bones and four skulls of possibly mouse or vole.
(*hands were thoroughly washed post dissection!) For more info on Owl Pellets: The Barn Owl Trust Wishing you all a super long weekend, Miss Chalcraft, Mrs Graham and Mrs White Year 4's performance of Trouble at Oak Wood was filmed this week, and so parents will be sent a link to watch it when it is all edited and ready. The children have been working very hard these past few weeks learning their lines, remembering their cues on stage, voice projection and acting skills. They have done you all proud and so please find below some photographs taken during the final rehearsals for you to enjoy.
We wish you a very Happy Easter, Miss Chalcraft, Mrs Graham and Mrs White Year 4 missed the opportunity to set fire to their Tudor Houses when they were in Year 2 (due to covid), so Mrs White let them watch a re-enactment of how the houses would have burnt, in our woodland area, using our Anglo-Saxon round houses instead. The centre house was set on fire safely by Mrs White, and the child watched from a safe distance and were amazed at how quickly the houses caught. Thank you Mrs White. Have a super weekend, Miss Chalcraft, Mrs Graham and Mrs White |
