The Year 4 class have made a fantastic start to the new term and have had a very exciting week. This started with auditioning for and then finding out our parts for our school play, Oliver Twist. We've already began rehearsing and can't wait for you all to see it at the end of the term!
As well as that, we have been fortunate enough spend a lesson with an experienced Cricket player, from Devon Cricket which the children thoroughly enjoyed. During our PE lessons, we have began learning how to play and develop our skills in handball. To end the week on a high, we did a (very messy) class experiment in Science to help the children visualise and gain a better understanding of how the digestive system works. Where we mixed together different foods (to show how our teeth tear our food into chunks) before placing it into a pairs of tights (acting as the oesophagus and intestines). As the food travelled down, we began to squeeze the tights to show how the nutrients are released into our bodies before we deposit the remaining solids. We have been celebrating 'Love yourself' week across the school this week. This involved talking about and writing things that they love about themselves which was lovely to see. It was also non-school uniform day on Friday, and the children brought in their own toys or teddies into school with them.
