Year Four had a fantastic Viking Day! Thanks to Leif Tarry who came in dressed as a Viking and led charges and raids across the school field on a brilliantly sunny afternoon. The children all looked amazing and have been talking about it all week. We ended the day with a Viking Feast, sampling typical Viking foods.
Have a super half term break! From Miss Chalcraft, Mrs Graham and Mrs White. Having mostly recovered from PGL, the children have been delving further into How to Train a Dragon; looking at the use of simile and how to create powerful imagery. In Maths we have exploring rounding in money. Our topic of Vikings is coming to a close and watch this space for the grand finale ...
We hope you have a super weekend, Miss Chalcraft, Mrs Graham and Mrs White Photos below are of paired reading with Year 2. Each child now has a buddy and so we will be meeting more often to buddy up with a good book and share characters and stories together What an incredible three days and two nights spent at PGL Barton Hall. The children were amazing. They tried new activities, they pushed themselves out of their comfort zones and learnt new skills. The staff at PGL were awesome, very motivating and encouraging! Ruth, Ali and myself - plus helpers, enjoyed the Easter holiday sunshine and built a willow dome at the end of the playing field. It was a wonderful experience! The willow was donated by RHS Rosemoor and collected by Ali and we used Ruth's expertise in this area as it appears she is somewhat of an expert! Thank you.
Year 4 have tested it for size and strength as we went to inspect and see if it has started to grow yet. Watch this space. Year 4 blog will be full of residential fun next week. Have a super weekend getting ready for it, Miss Chalcraft, Mrs Graham and Mrs White |
