Our topic on Australia has started very strongly with superb Aboriginal style dot art, country size and location comparisons, Aussie Pavlova and Aboriginal tales from the Billabong, plus wonderful Digeridoo making. See below for actual Didgeridoo playing and a slumbering hedgehog who was found by mistake and is now back snoozing again.
In PE this week we focused on a one leg balance. The children worked through different colour levels which got progressively more difficult. I was really surprised with how well the children were able to balance when on one leg, on an uneven surface with their eyes closed!
Monday's English challenge was to design a job advertisement for a pilot in the form of a poster. I was very impressed with the amount of effort put in and the level of research that our Year 4 pupils have done. Well done Year 4!
The Firework-Maker's Daughter text has been wonderful. We have explored the characters, language, scenery, descriptions and beauty of the story. Please find a small selection of the wonderful work you have sent in, including Art, English, winter walks and cooking of Brazilian brigadeiros. Topic next half term is Australia.
