This weeks blog shows our year 4s learning the strategy and skills needed for Tag Rugby with SAINTS Southwest and also hands-on Science with 'Does it make a circuit or not and why?' in our Electricity topic. Some overheard findings were 'oh look, wow, the motor is going!', 'This won't work it is only connected on the negative side!', 'This should work, maybe it's the battery?' ' ... hang on a minute, it doesn't work that way, but look now, if you do this ... it does!'
What a super week! In English, we started to think about the common themes in the three mini stories in our text 'The Beasties'. Year 4 will be bringing in a special item next week to then go on to write about in the style of the 10 sentence mini stories they have been studying. In Art with Mrs White, the children explored different grades of sketching pencils with their caricatures of Roman soldiers. In SCARF (PSHE) we talked and looked at what we enjoy doing and what makes us US! Such fun to share our likes. Well done Year 4, what a great week! Enjoy your weekend! Miss Chalcraft, Mrs Graham and Mrs White. ![]() We have been so busy, we only took one photo of our ingenious way of up-cycling testing kit plastic bags! We now have digit card holders, see below! How do you use yours?
We have been setting our classroom up for the term to come, we have started our class text 'The Beasties' so we are finding out about the treasures under our beds and how they might have ended up there! Our topic this half term will be the Romans and so we will be incorporating Art, DT and History to give the children depth of knowledge. Times Table Rockstars logons went home today - TTRS link here We hope you have a super weekend, Miss Chalcraft, Mrs Graham and Mrs White |
