Getting started with Google Classroom

While school is partially closed, we're going to be asking you all to use google classroom to complete your home learning. This will enable you to meet with your teacher and class for registration and live lessons. There is an expectation that you will complete all of the home learning set each day and submit it back to your teacher for marking. This will ensure that you will continue to learn and make good progress even though you can't come to school. Your parents will receive a username and password for each of you by email. Use these details to log into google classroom. Follow the steps below to log in for the first time.

​Sign in for the first time

​Go to classroom.google.com and click Go to Classroom.

​Enter the email address for your Classroom account and click Next.

This is the email address that ends @southtawton.co.uk

If you use your own personal email account, you will not be able to access all the features of google classroom, so it is vital that you use the email address that you have been sent.

Enter your password and click next.

​This is the password you have received by email. The best way to do this is to copy and paste it from the email.

If you get a chance to save the username and password, please do. It will help you to log in more quickly next time. ​

​If there is a welcome message, review it and click Accept.

Switch to a different account
If you’re signed in to multiple accounts and need to switch to the account that you use with Classroom.

1. At the top, click your profile image or initial.
​2. Select the account

Access other areas of Classroom
​Go to Menu  to access:

• Classes—Navigate to your class.
• Calendar—View due dates and access items.
• To-do—Review work for your class.
