This week we have enjoyed pampering our classmates and staff in our hairdressing and nail salon. Once you made an appointment you could choose from a wash, cut, restyle and new shade of nail varnish. We all felt better after a visit this week and it was a super chance to talk to each other too.
We have also read the story 'The Worrysaurus' by Rachel Bright. We have talked about times when we feel worried and what we could do when that happens. Children had excellent ideas including making dream catchers, speaking to adults, giving a hug and playing with someone.
Here are some great things we created this week in response to the story; dream catchers, worry dolls, pictures and bracelets.
This week's super sunny weather has meant we have enjoyed plenty of outdoor learning. To end the week we walked to Mrs Glover's farm to see the sheep, feed the pigs and pick some blackberries.
Back in class we all had a go at cutting apples, adding our freshly picked blackberries and mixing ingredients for a crumble topping, before taking them home to enjoy with our families.
This week has been the children's first ever full week of school!
They have tried many things for the first time; taking new things in their stride and having a go at everything available. Among our firsts this week have been attending whole school assembly, receiving our first school certificates, completing PE lessons and changing into PE kit.
Children also shared their favourite things collages that they created at home. We all learnt more about each other.
A BIG well done to all our new starters in Year R who have been quick to settle into school life.
We are looking forward to a fun filled year ahead.
Here are a selection of photos showing some of the things we have been doing during our first 3 days.
This week we have seen, touched and found out lots about animals. We were visited by Ben and Izzy from the mobile rockpool, who showed us different types of crabs, an anemone and sea snails.
We were also able to handle a real bearded dragon, giant snail, millipede, cockroach and royal python from the team at Worldanimals.
