Art work in Year R this term We learnt about the festival of Diwali by retelling the story of Rama and Sita, making diva lamps and barfi sweets. We have had an incubator in class with hen's eggs. After 3 weeks we watched the eggs hatch. We now have 4 chicks chirping away in class who come out for regular cuddles. Thank you to Jo at the farm for allowing us to hatch and look after her chicks. We have started off our time in Year R by enjoying an 'All at Sea' topic. We have learnt about sea creatures, investigated items that float and sink and had fun making various sea themed pictures and craft. We also made pirate wanted posters and maps before completing our own treasure hunt around the school. We were excited to find the 'tasty' gold coins and share them out. We walked to the farm to pick blackberries. Back in class we sliced apples and made a topping for our very own crumbles... they were delicious! Here is the achieved learning information relating to the Year R class of 2018-19
