Here are few group photos to show what a truly wonderful bunch of children this class is. It has been a real pleasure to teach them this year and they have made an unusual year always fun and enjoyable.
Mrs Culverhouse, Mrs Snell, Mrs Bond, Mrs Glover & Miss Williams. This week we have seen, touched and found out lots about animals. We were visited by Ben and Izzy from the mobile rockpool, who showed us different types of crabs, an anemone and sea snails.
We were also able to handle a real bearded dragon, giant snail, millipede, cockroach and royal python from the team at Worldanimals. What a super end to the week! We all thoroughly enjoyed watching science in action at the bubble show this afternoon. We learnt how to make a bubble float up by filling it with helium and how it floated in a container of carbon dioxide. Everyone was amazed by the size of the bubbles, the liquid nitrogen clouds and super tricks.
Great weather and a super team spirit for our sports day today. All children took part in every event with great sportsmanship, you made us all proud. Our ocean theme has taken us surfing, you can see our dance video below. Children have also transformed cardboard boxes into their own ocean scenes, an amazing home learning effort from everybody.
We were so excited this week when our 5 caterpillars emerged as beautiful Painted Lady butterflies. After a few days being watched in class, we took them to the end of the school field to be released. They are now happily flying around South Zeal.
We tried juggling, plate spinning, hula hooping, ribbons and stilts during our circus skills session. We also enjoyed watching juggling and diablo demonstrations.
We have been making the most of the glorious weather this week with plenty of outdoor learning opportunities.
Children have been very interested in ocean and sea themed learning, many have been so inspired that they have completed activities at home too. |
